Courses at The Tree Health Centre

The Venue

The Tree Health Centre is a purpose-built teaching facility, incorporating a classroom and laboratory, teaching space for up to 30 people and an array of laboratory testing and demonstration equipment. Located in the Peter Sowerby Building at The Yorkshire Arboretum, it offers a comfortable, well ventilated teaching space with good IT and AV systems, underfloor heating and a balcony. The room is available for hire as a venue for your own courses.

Courses

Our courses cover many aspects of tree health and management, as well as other tree and horticulture-related subjects from identification classes to making wildflower meadows. We serve a breadth of beneficiaries including small businesses, the self-employed, general public, students, apprentices and school children. Many of our courses are suitable for all abilities, with no prior knowledge required.

Bespoke courses

We work with a range of plant and tree health stakeholders to develop and deliver courses for specific audiences, including government agencies, community tree nurseries and charitable organisations.
