Venue Hire

The Peter Sowerby Building, home to the Tree Health Centre, is a modern facility suited to a range of activities from team building sessions to craft workshops. This unique space in a beautiful setting is available for daytime and evening hire, with in-house catering options, and access to an 120 acre garden of trees. Available all year round with a capacity of 30 seated and 40 standing.

The Yorkshire Arboretum is located on the Castle Howard Estate in the picturesque Howardian Hills, not far from Malton and only 15 miles from York. Ample free parking is available on site. Venue hire is available all year round but during December and January, when the Visitor Centre is closed, there is restricted access to the arboretum.

Peter Sowerby Building
With magnificent views over the arboretum from its picture window, the contemporary-style Peter Sowerby Building is available for daytime and evening hire. Ideal for small and medium-sized groups, it is suited to a range of activities from team building events and training courses to drinks receptions. It provides a comfortable, well-ventilated space, underfloor heating, and a balcony. The space has modern facilities ideal for your meeting, lecture, or workshop including:

Daytime & Evening Hire

The Peter Sowerby Building is available for private hire during the day with the option to use the arboretum for training and workshops. The Visitor Centre is available for evening hire only. Both the Visitor Centre and Peter Sowerby Building present a beautiful setting for an evening event, allowing you and your guests to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the garden of trees.

  • Peter Sowerby Building available for up to 30 people:
    Daytime hire - prices start from £250 +VAT
    Evening hire from 6pm - prices start from £450 +VAT

Catering

Our in-house catering team offers a range of packages designed to suit your individual requirements. We use seasonal and locally sourced ingredients with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available.
