Painting the Landscape Course -The Spirit of Trees 2025 - 10am-4pm

with Artist in Residence Lesley Seeger

2 day course £335 includes lunch and all materials

10.00-3.00- 1 hr for lunch

 Using the Yorkshire Arboretum as inspiration you will explore fresh exciting ways to interpret landscape. This two day course will cover composition, mark making, colour mixing and various paint and multi media techniques.

 Suitable for the adventurous beginner and the experienced artist seeking to loosen up his or her style. You will be encouraged to experiment and develop your own creative language.

Expect to take home at least two finished paintings. (Materials will be provided but bring a sketch book and any favourite materials or brushes; good walking shoes and old clothing or aprons.)

More about Lesley - Painter, Tutor, Author & Artist in Residence 2025/2026:

 After a foundation course in Fine Art at York College of Art and Design, Lesley graduated from Southampton University in English & Media and later Sheffield in Art Psychotherapy. In 2016 she published her first book, ‘Coming Home.’ Alongside a career in publishing and Art Therapy, Lesley has been painting and teaching for over thirty years, exhibiting extensively both at home and abroad.

 Artist in residence for the second time at the Yorkshire Arboretum Lesley plans a new body of work inspired by the garden entitled ‘The Spirit of Trees.’
