A brand new exhibition of paintings by botanical illustrator Bridget Gillespie. The paintings in The Yorkshire Hedgerow series have all been produced from plants found within a few miles of her home on the edge of the North York Moors. They span the changing colours and growth cycles in some of the most familiar yet unremarked features of our landscape.
Bridget Gillespie has been a Botanical Illustrator for over 23 years after taking a degree in Graphic Design. A request to paint a friend’s wedding bouquet led to botanical specialism. She has exhibited in Cambridge, Durham, Yorkshire and London. In 2002, 2008 and 2017 she was awarded Gold Medals by the RHS who purchased several pieces for their archive collection. Her most recent submission to the RHS also won Best in Show for the depiction of Beetroots.
